Dubai International Airport recorded a 3.4% year-on-year increase in air freight volumes in 2015, handling a total of 2,506,092 tonnes.
The volume for December also rose 5% compared to December 2014, at 218,408 tonnes.
New arrivals in 2015 included Air Canada from Toronto, Eurowings from Cologne and China Southern from Wuhan, as well as the addition of 12 new passenger destinations by Emirates and flydubai.
DXB is owned and operated by Dubai Airports, who also owns and operates Al Maktoum International Airport, where Emirates SkyCargo’s freighter operation is based.
