SILK WAY WEST ADDS ONLINE BOOKING WITH NEW SITE

Silk Way West has announced the launch of its new website which includes features for online booking and shipment tracking.

The freight operator noted that the new site offers other new features, including integrated online booking services and enhanced freight tracking as well as a carbon emission calculator.

The Azerbaijan-based carrier noted that the online booking feature allows freight forwarders and sales agents to send cargo inquiries directly to the airline through the website and receive a booking confirmation with flight data through email.

Meanwhile, the tracking service which includes a carbon emission calculator will offer real-time status tracking through the website and calculates the CO2 emissions generated from shipments based on cargo weight, origin and destination.

"Adjusting the website in line with our new corporate identity and adding useful features and important functions makes it a great experience for customers to step into the Silk Way world,"  said Wolfgang Meier, president of Silk Way West Airlines.

"The next stage in digitalising our processes is the launch of online booking through our website, which will further enhance our capacity to reach prospective clients," he added.

Aside from the website upgrade, Silk Way West has also started upgrading its fleet this year. As part of its modernization and digitization efforts, the carrier also added its cargo capacity to a third-party online booking portal, WebCargo in December 2021.
