LATAM CARGO ADDS ANOTHER FREIGHTER

As part of its ongoing expansion, LATAM Cargo has announced the arrival of another freighter aircraft to join its fleet.

The airline announced that it had received its fifth B767-300 freighter this year, bringing its total number of B767Fs in its all-cargo fleet to 16.

This is the last freighter that LATAM is due to receive in 2022.

"This aircraft will allow us to continue strengthening our value proposition through a broader and deeper network. The B767-300F's blend of size and competitiveness enables us to offer our customers more and better-routing options," said Andrés Bianchi, LATAM Cargo's chief executive officer.

He added that the new freighter will be used on transatlantic flights and benefit the transportation of general cargo, fresh flowers and fruits, among other products.

This comes as the airline already earlier announced plans to grow its transatlantic network.

With an 85% increase in weekly flights from seven to 13, the LATAM Group's freight operators will almost double their capacity between Europe and the Americas in the second half.

According to LATAM, this marks a 160% increase in weekly flights on the trade from 2019 levels.
