MAERSK NAMES SILVIA DING AS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR GREATER CHINA

A.P. Moller-Maersk has named Silvia Ding as the new president of Greater China and will take over the role on January 1, 2024.

 

Ding previously held the position of Head of Transformation since April 2021.

 

Prior to her recent positions, Ding held various management positions in China before becoming the managing director of Maersk Filipinas in 2010. She then became regional chief financial officer for Maersk Line North Asia Region (2011 – 2014) and managing director of Maersk Line South China (2015 – 2016).

 

Ding was also vice president and managing director of Maersk Line Greater China (2016 – 2017) and global head of Ocean Products for Maersk Line in Copenhagen, Denmark (2017 – 2021).

 

"Silvia has taken positions in Greater China for over 15 years. She is very passionate about the Greater China market and the potential in global trading from Chinese clients," said Ditlev Blicher, president of Maersk Asia Pacific.

 

He added that Greater China is a "crucial market" for Maersk.

 

"We believe Silvia will be a great leader to implement the company's strategy," Blicher added.
