CHINA SOUTHERN ADDS NINTH FREIGHTER
February 12, 2015

HONG KONG - China Southern Cargo has taken delivery of its ninth B777-200 freighter, ahead of the expected increase in demand after the lunar New Year. The airline plans to acquire a further four more B777-200F aircraft by July, bringing its cargo fleet to 13 aircraft.

China Southern said that the new aircraft will mainly fly on routes from Guangzhou and Shanghai to Europe and the US, enabling the airline to increase the frequency of flights on these routes. “We will also launch new destinations like Paris and London, in order to connect the existing passenger routes Guangzhou-Paris and Guangzhou-London, to enhance competitiveness,” said an airline spokesperson.

China Southern currently flies freighter routes to Chicago, Los Angles and Vancouver in North America, and Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Vienna in Europe.
