QATAR AIRWAYS CARGO REPORTS RECORD YEAR
May 27, 2025

Qatar Airways Cargo reported a 17.4% increase in cargo revenue and transported 1.5 million tonnes of chargeable weight in the past year, marking its strongest financial performance since the COVID-19 era.

The airline, which holds a 7.11% share of the global air cargo market, credited its success to operational reliability, digital investments, and product innovation.

Operating a fleet of 28 Boeing 777 freighters, Qatar Airways Cargo serves over 60 dedicated freighter destinations alongside 160 belly-hold routes.

In the announcement of its financial performance, Qatar Airways Cargo also highlighted its humanitarian contributions, transporting 470,000 kg of aid free of charge through its WeQare program, in collaboration with UNHCR and Airlink.

Additionally, its Rewild the Planet initiative facilitated the transport of 1,182 animals, including lemurs, tortoises, and lions.

Chief Officer Cargo Mark Drusch emphasized the airline’s focus on digital transformation, citing a 36% increase in e-bookings via its Digital Lounge platform and the introduction of AI-powered revenue management through CARGOSTACK Optimiser.

"Reaching the top is hard. Staying there takes vision, precision, improvement and teamwork," Drusch, said. "We've executed relentlessly and the results speak for themselves. Our agility in adapting to shifting market conditions, a focus on investing in digitalisation, deeper data-driven analyses, and best-in-class reliability is what has attributed to our success."

"I'm incredibly proud of the Qatar Airways Cargo team, our partners and customers who continue to make us the benchmark in air cargo," he added.

The airline also expanded its network, launching freighter services to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Vienna, Kuala Lumpur, and London, while increasing frequencies to China and Hong Kong.

Drusch stated that Qatar Airways Cargo remains committed to setting industry trends through continued innovation and strategic expansion.

"We're not here to follow trends — we're here to set them," Drusch said. "Qatar Airways Cargo will continue to lead through performance, foresight, and purpose. New products and digital innovation are already in the pipeline. This is what Leading Global Trade looks like."
