U-FREIGHT SEES CONTINUED RISE IN PHILIPPINE SHIPMENTS
July 7, 2025

U-Freight expects continued growth in shipment volumes to the Philippines, driven by demand for e-commerce, electronics and other consumer goods.

The Hong Kong-based international freight services provider offered the outlook after being recognized by Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific as its top shipper for the fifth consecutive year. The company handled over 2,300 tonnes of cargo via the airline in 2024.

A spokesperson from U-Freight told Asia Cargo News that most ecommerce and conventional pallet shipments, such as electronics and equipment, account for half of the total volume, with the majority originating from China.

"We have observed this trend and anticipate it will continue to rise," the U-Freight spokesperson said. "Based on our business data, Cebu Pacific's usage volume in 2024-2025 reached 2,300 tonnes, marking at least a 30% increase compared to the previous year."

U-Freight believes shipment volumes will continue to rise, citing Cebu Pacific's expanded fleet and growing flight schedule.

"Yes, we think so, given the fact that the airline increased its fleet to 99 aircraft by early 2025, and offers over 3,200 weekly flights across domestic and international routes, which directly enhances cargo capacity," the company said.

"The airline's confidence in sustained growth is reflected in its ongoing aircraft deliveries and strategic focus on capacity expansion."

U-Freight Group CEO Simon Wong welcomed the company's latest recognition from Cebu Pacific, marking its continued distinction as a top cargo partner.

"We are honoured to receive this award once again from Cebu Pacific," Wong said. "It not only celebrates our strong partnership with the airline, but also the dedication of our team and our valued customers who make this possible."

"These recognitions reflect U-Freight's ongoing commitment to excellence in cargo handling, customer service, and innovation across the global logistics sector. They also show the trust our airline partners place in U-Freight and the consistent hard work of our team."

U-Freight noted that it remains focused on enhancing its capabilities, expanding partnerships, and driving sustainable growth across its global freight network.
