Lufthansa Cargo has gone live at 120 stations in its network with the iCargo IT solution from software company IBS.
The migration was achieved by means of a system cutover and no major business disruptions were caused at Frankfurt, Lufthansa Cargo’s main global hub.
“IBS has had the best offering in the industry and our decision to jointly execute the project has verified to be the very best. The commitment of the IBS team is as extraordinary as the seamless collaboration with the offshore team, both being paramount for the overall project success,” said Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, an executive board member at Lufthansa Cargo. “iCargo has proven to be the right product regardless of station or hub size and delivered countless value driving functionalities. Our Lufthansa Cargo 2020 strategy has further materialized. The modernized IT platform from now onwards acts as a lever - enabling us to efficiently introduce innovation and continuously the best products for our customers.”
According to IBS, the new iCargo system will be operated by approximately 4,500 Lufthansa Cargo users around the world, and will support Lufthansa Cargo’s global operations to more than 300 destinations.
IBS was chosen by Lufthansa after a selection process lasting over 18 months, during which Lufthansa assessed more than 400 IT solution providers.
