Qatar Airways Cargo is to offer an express courier service for door-to-door shipments from August 1, 2015.

The new product, called QR On-Board Courier, will consist of customizable transportation services to suit customers’ specific requirements, and couriers will accompany each shipment from collection to delivery.

“Time matters to our customers, and Qatar Airways Cargo’s new On-Board Courier service will focus on speed of delivery providing reliable transportation solutions to meet the demands of time-sensitive industries such as the high-tech and automotive sectors,” said Ulrich Ogiermann, chief officer of cargo at Qatar Airways. “With Qatar Airways’ global network operating to 150 destinations, this premium service will be invaluable for multinational businesses that are at risk of supply chain delays.”

Qatar Airways Cargo said it would be providing a comprehensive booking service for its customers, including flight reservations, entry requirements and customs regulations around the world. The real-time progress of shipments can be tracked online.

The new service is expected to appeal to the automotive, energy, fashion, financial, medical and pharmaceutical industries for the transportation of time-critical important documents, prototypes, samples and spare parts, according to the carrier.
