Michigan-based Kalitta Air has become the first US airline to select the Weight & Balance solution from CHAMP Cargosystems for its Boeing 747 freighter fleet.

Weight & Balance is a java-based application which helps airlines plan aircraft loads efficiently and safely, so that the centre of gravity of each aircraft is kept within permissible limits.

Kalitta Air operates a fleet of 14 747 freighters.
