Volga-Dnepr announced that it has completed a series of charter flights carrying over 12 million Covid-19 test kits from China to Denmark.

The transport was fulfilled in cooperation with UK-based freight forwarder JAG-UFS and on behalf of the Danish government.

Volga-Dnepr noted that the test kits were carried from Shanghai to Billund in Denmark in mid-January with an average load of 72 tonnes per flight.

Volga-Dnepr had two AN-124 aircraft (RA-82046 and RA-82043) in Billund airspace simultaneously on January 29 — the first plane arrived five minutes after the departure of RA-82046, which required rapid ground handling and aircraft turnaround services at Billund Airport, said Volga-Dnepr.

The other aircraft saw RA-82044, one of Volga-Dnepr’s 12 x AN-124-100, carry 72 tonnes of Covid-19 test kits to Billund Airport on January 31.

"Since 2022 we keep receiving requests for the transportation of test kits as the demand for Covid-19 tests augments amid the spread of the omicron variant," said Ekaterina Andreeva, commercial director of Volga-Dnepr Airlines.

Volga-Dnepr Group noted that throughout 2021, it transported over 43,000 tonnes of dedicated healthcare and humanitarian cargo worldwide aboard its fleet of freighters.

This year, the group is seeking to expand its services to include integrated logistics solutions throughout the whole supply chain.
