United Cargo will enhance its TempControl product by accepting the RAP e2 temperature-controlled container from Envirotainer.

According to United, the RAP e2 is an LD9-sized unit with a newly designed shell to deliver superior insulation performance. It uses rechargeable batteries and can maintain temperatures between 0 and +25°C.

“The RAP e2 provides key benefits to TempControl customers,” said Jim Bellinder, vice president of cargo sales in the Americas at United Cargo. “Its larger capacity and expanded temperature range gives customers greater flexibility in choosing the most efficient transport for their critical temperature-sensitive shipments. United Cargo and Envirotainer have worked together on cool chain logistics for nearly 10 years, so we are excited to offer the RAP e2 as an option for our customers.”

Customers will be able to lease the container directly through Envirotainer or through United Cargo.

United Cargo is now able to carry all four of Envirotainer’s active temperature-controlled containers across its network of 59 TempControl-certified destinations, according to the carrier.
