Saudia Cargo has received IATA's CEIV Pharma certification for the transport and handling of pharmaceutical shipments.
The certification follows the carrier's increasing focus on global healthcare logistics and serving the expanding Middle East pharmaceutical market through the transportation of medicines and vaccines in recent years.
Increase in pharma shipments
"Saudia Cargo was vital in aiding in the distribution of vaccinations and other necessities during and post-pandemic, working to uphold the highest standards of quality while doing so both domestically and internationally," said
Aymen Osilan, executive director at Saudia Cargo.
"Around a year ago, we started the certification process with IATA for CEIV Pharma, and now, after a year of laborious efforts, strengthening Saudia Cargo's position as a trusted provider for spearheading air cargo solutions in the industry."
"Receiving the IATA CEIV Pharma accreditation is a testament to our team’s dedication to excellence and work ethics commitment to offering our clients and business partners the best possible services in pharmaceutical logistics," Osilan added.
Saudia Cargo is enhancing its pharmaceutical transport services through collaboration with stakeholders in the industry — including Pharma Aero, Envirotainer, DoKaSch, CSafe, va-Q-tec, SkyCell, and Tower Cold Chain.
Saudia Cargo announced in September that it would collaborate with IATA to achieve CEIV Pharma certification.
