The ECS Group has strengthened its African presence with its acquisition of EFIS MAROC, which offers GSSA and air cargo services in the region.

The acquisition of Morocco's major GSA allows the company to obtain a "strong air cargo market" presence and benefit from rapid digital transformation.

"EFIS MAROC has emerged as the market leader in commercial air cargo services, uniquely positioned as the region's sole GSA with substantial air freight experience and a loyal client base," said Adrien Thominet, executive chairman of ECS Group.

"Morocco's strategic location holds the potential to become a key African Hub, aligning with ECS Group's established air cargo hubs in East and South Africa," he added.

Upon integration into ECS Group, EFIS MAROC's internal processes will receive a boost through the group's proprietary digital solutions like Squair, providing improved customs reporting functions.

ECS noted that EFIS' clients will gain access to CargoAi's booking platform and wallet payment features, reinforcing EFIS MAROC's leading position in a market where manual logistics processes still dominate.
