ANA TO LAUNCH TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO JV WITH UNITED
May 19, 2016
All Nippon Airways and United Airlines will launch a trans-Pacific cargo joint venture starting from July 5, 2016, subject to regulatory approval.
According to ANA, the initial phase of the joint venture will consist of joint sales and aligned operations for Japan-originating shipments bound for Canada and the US.
The carriers are planning to expand the joint venture to cover routes from Canada and the US to Japan at a later date.
The combined network of the two carriers offers 175 weekly non-stop flights to 12 destinations in Canada and the US, with air and truck connections in the two countries, according to ANA.
ANA and United signed an agreement to establish the joint venture in March 2016.
