Cathay Pacific has appointed Arnold Cheng as its director of corporate affairs with effect from July 11, 2016.

According to Cathay, Cheng will be in charge of all of the airline’s activities relating to corporate communications, stakeholder relations, corporate social responsibility programmes and environmental affairs.

Cheng, who is currently general manager of sales in the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong, will succeed James Tong, who will take up the position of acting CEO of Dragonair.

Cheng joined the Cathay Pacific Group in 1992 and has held various management positions in Hong Kong and overseas, according to the airline.
