GEODIS ACHIEVES IATA CEIV PHARMA CERTIFICATION IN AUSTRALIA

GEODIS announced that it obtained IATA's Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification in Australia, enhancing the regional healthcare network to meet growing demand.

Citing healthcare as a "key strategic growth sector," GEODIS noted its commitment to achieving pharmaceutical handling excellence in ensuring safety, security, compliance, and efficiency through a globally consistent and recognized pharmaceutical-product handling standard throughout the region.

In the APAC and Middle East region, the newly certified Sydney site joins the existing regional network of CEIV Pharma-certified locations in China (PVG), Indonesia (CGK), India (DEL & BOM), South Korea (ICN), Thailand (BKK), United Arab Emirates (DXB) and Singapore (SIN).

GEODIS now operates 29 CEIV Pharma-certified sites across its global network, spanning the Americas, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.

GEODIS noted that these certifications highlight the company's substantial investment in its healthcare capabilities, allowing it to become a key provider for pharmaceutical and healthcare companies.

"The achievement of the CEIV Pharma accreditation underscores our commitment to delivering the highest standards in handling and transporting our customers' high-value, time and temperature-sensitive cargo," said Stuart Asplet, managing director of GEODIS Australia & New Zealand.

He added that this certification ensures compliance with regulatory requirements to safeguard the integrity of pharmaceutical products at their destination.

With Australia's pharmaceutical market projected to reach US$10.6 billion in 2024, and continue growing at 5.03% annually from 2024 to 2029, GEODIS noted that it is well-positioned to support this growth and meet customer's needs.

Its Sydney facility provides temperature-controlled cross-docking services in the +2°C to +8°C and +15°C to +25° ranges, complemented by comprehensive air, ocean, and customs solutions — part of GEODIS' growing worldwide network for ambient and cold chain products.

GEODIS noted that there are also further plans to gain the CEIV Pharma certification for New Zealand in the coming months.

The IATA CEIV Pharma (Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics) certification ensures that facilities, equipment, operations, and personnel meet the appropriate applicable standards, guidelines and regulations expected of a pharmaceutical manufacturer and logistics provider.

It helps organizations and the entire air cargo supply chain achieve pharmaceutical handling excellence while addressing the industry's need for more safety, security, compliance, and efficiency through a globally consistent and recognized pharmaceutical-product handling certification.
