LUG ADDS JAL TO FRANKFURT PORTFOLIO

LUG aircargo handling has become the cargo handler for Japan Airlines at Frankfurt Airport.

The agent will handle the belly cargo for the airline’s daily Boeing 787-9 flight from Tokyo Narita, as well as road feeder services.

“We are delighted that we have been able to impress such a customer as JAL Cargo providing unparalleled service with our superior service quality and win the airline as customer,” said Patrik Tschirch, managing director and CEO of LUG aircargo handling GmbH. “We expect a handling volume of 800-1000 tonnes per month. JAL Cargo’s global network is going to further expand our international footprint. The airline cooperates closely with British Airways which is also a handling customer of ours.”

Sachito Akimoto, general manager of cargo and mail for Germany at JAL, said that LUG will help the airline deliver a seamless end-to-end customer experience.

“I believe the company is a perfect fit for JAL Cargo’s wide product portfolio and premium service goals,” said Akimoto. “LUG will help us to fulfil our customers’ expectations and satisfy our own ambitions in terms of high quality service, safety standards, and responsiveness to customer demands.”
