Mediterranean Shipping Company has christened its new container vessel, the MSC Sveva, at the Port of Le Havre.
The 395m-long MSC Sveva was delivered in October 2015 and is part of MSC’s Oscar class of ships, with a capacity of 19,224 TEUs.
Present at the ceremony were Phillipe Lestrade, CEO of MSC France, Hervé Cornède, commercial and marketing director of HAROPA, Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, Jean-Baptiste Gastinne, town councillor and regional vice president, Edouard Philippe, mayor of Le Havre and deputy of the Seine-Maritime area, and Sveva, Gianni Onorato’s daughter, after whom the ship is named.
The MSC Sveva is currently deployed on the Asia-Europe trade.
