Turkish Airlines has received the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics certification from the International Air Transport Association.

According to Turkish Cargo, it has a 3,000m² special storage area at the Istanbul hub which covers four temperature ranges from -20°C to +25°C, as well as an indoor area measuring 43,000m². Healthcare products are stored in a separate dedicated area.

Temperatures are monitored using a telemetry system and all cargo movements are tracked in real time with COMIS, Turkish Cargo’s IT system.

The carrier is also planning to commission the use of thermal dollies for time- and temperature-critical shipments, according to a statement.
