time:matters is deepening its engagement with the semiconductor industry as a newly appointed Strategic Partner of SEMI's Supply Chain Management (SCM) Initiative.
The company, with expertise in global high-performance and supply chain solutions, said as a strategic partner to the SCM Initiative, time:matters will work with other industry leaders to develop a shared framework for more resilient and efficient supply chain management across the semiconductor ecosystem.
It also underscores time:matters' ability to address the sector's complex logistics challenges and its commitment to driving innovation and reliability within critical global supply chains.
Bernhard zur Strassen, CEO of time:matters, said resilient supply chains are the key to success in the entire semiconductor ecosystem.
"This has never been more applicable than today, amidst all global challenges. In this ecosystem, you need logistics partners capable of ensuring both speed and reliability on a global scale."
"We are proud to be named Strategic Partner to SEMI, collaborating with key partners to help build a more robust and transparent supply chain. In this role, we will apply over 20 years of logistics expertise to strengthen the industry's stability and foster innovation," zur Strassen added.
SEMI is the leading global industry association representing the electronics manufacturing and design supply chain. Through initiatives such as the Supply Chain Management Initiative, SEMI fosters collaboration to strengthen supply chain resilience, enhance transparency, and support sustainable industry growth.
time:matters noted that as technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, demands on semiconductor supply chains are intensifying.
Accelerated innovation cycles, supply shortages and ongoing geopolitical challenges are also adding even more volatility to global logistics networks.
It added that with components often traveling tens of thousands of miles and crossing multiple borders before final production, efficient and resilient logistics have become critical to maintaining development speed and manufacturing continuity.
"Delays in the semiconductor supply chain can have significant operational impacts," said Remy Schoenzetter, head of business Unit High Tech & Semicon at time:matters.
"The strength and focus of logistics lie in anticipating and mitigating risks to maintain supply chain continuity for semiconductor manufacturers. In doing so, logistics companies do more than just transport goods; their fast and secure transport of time-sensitive components helps safeguard semiconductor operations."
Bettina Weiss, chief of staff and Corporate Strategy at SEMI, noted that the semiconductor industry is facing unprecedented supply chain complexity at the moment.
"Strategic partnerships with companies such as time:matters are essential to building the capabilities SEMI members need to anticipate and respond to disruptions proactively, enhancing supply chain agility and resilience for the entire industry," she said.
