LUFTHANSA CARGO HONOURS CANADA WITH MD-11F

Lufthansa Cargo has highlighted the importance of the Canadian market by giving an MD-11F the name “Hello, Bonjour Canada.”

The aircraft, registered D-ALCI, was christened at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

“The greeting ‘Hello, Bonjour Canada’ stands for the close connection between Lufthansa Cargo and Canada,” said Bernhard Kindelbacher, vice president for the Americas at Lufthansa Cargo. “Both countries − Germany and Canada − look back on a long shared history. Since the earliest days of the discovery of the ‘New World’ up through today, trade between both countries has stood for efficiency and speed. We are proud of being so well positioned in this key and highly competitive market with more than 30 passenger and two freighter flights per week.”

This is the 10th Lufthansa Cargo aircraft to be named. The carrier already has aircraft with names that greet Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and the US. All five Boeing 777Fs and 12 MD-11Fs in the fleet are to be given names in different languages, according to the carrier.
