Qatar Airways has placed an order for 10 Boeing 777-300ERs and 30 787-9s.
“Qatar Airways, already one of the fastest-growing airlines in the history of aviation, today announces a significant and historic aircraft order that will power our future growth for the years and the decades ahead,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of the Qatar Airways Group. “Boeing has proven to be a valuable partner, and today’s announcement is testament to our appreciation of the quality of their product and their dedication to providing world class customer service.”
The airline also signed a letter intent for the acquisition up to 60 737 MAX 8s.
Qatar Airways’ fleet of 190 aircraft now includes two 747-400Fs, nine 777-200LRs, 34 777-300ERs, 11 777Fs, and 30 787-8s, with another five 777Fs, 10 777-8Xs, 50 777-9Xs and 30 787-9s on firm order.
