Abu Dhabi Shipping Agency has appointed Sathish Raj as its business development manager.

Raj, who is 24, is in the process of studying for a Master of Business Administration qualification at the University of Northampton in the UK.

“I love challenges and this is the best challenge I have faced so far in my life,” he said.

Raj said that he had been offered a job by Accenture UK earlier this year, but he had turned it down because he wanted to move away from the technical work he had done in a previous job.

“As luck would have it, I discovered one of my MBA course-mates, Mohamed Almehairbi, is the son of the owner of ADSA, and he mentioned they were looking for a business development manager,” he said. “I met a representative from ADSA, who was impressed with the way I had been networking, and they offered me the job.”

ADSA was founded in 1979 and now offers services such as air and sea freight forwarding, customs clearance and warehousing.
