United Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 777-300ER.
The aircraft was flown from the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington to San Francisco, where it will be based.
The airline will operate the new 777 between San Francisco and Newark six times a week between February 16 and May 4, 2017.
United will deploy the 777-300ER on the San Francisco-Hong Kong route from March 25, 2017. Currently operated with a 747-400, this will be the airline’s first long-haul route for the new aircraft type.
United has 13 additional 777-300ERs on order, all of which will be delivered and enter service in 2017.
