Under the agreement, Saudia Cargo will use its logistics capabilities to handle the transportation of human organs in compliance with international standards. Saudia Cargo will also provide cargo services for the SCOT across the Arabian Gulf.

According to Nabil Khojah, chief executive officer of Saudia Cargo, the carrier hopes to strengthen its social responsibility through different activities and has been supporting the SCOT for free since January 2014.

He also said that delivery and receipt priority will be given to shipments of human organs at all of Saudi Arabia’s cargo terminals.

Faisal Shaheen, director general of the SCOT, said that he treasured the partnership and that the centre hopes to expand its scope by receiving more human organs from specialized centres and health bodies in the Arabian Gulf.

A total of 217 shipments were provided to the SCOT in 2016, according to Saudia Cargo.
