Swiss WorldCargo has rolled out its new organizational structure to offer solutions to the challenges of the logistics industry and to strengthen its promise to its customers around the world.


The new structure consists of three divisions: business development and customer experience, area and contribution management, and quality and services.

“The new organisational structure of Swiss WorldCargo is designed to make it more agile and to put our customers in the centre of all our activities,” said Ashwin Bhat, head of cargo at Swiss International Air Lines [second from right in photo]. “It is our purpose to enable our organization to provide the right solutions and services to new logistic needs. In a people business like air cargo, it is extremely important that these services are supported by a well-structured organization and delivered by skilled professionals who can play to their individual strengths bringing diverse and varied experience.”


Cargo business development and customer experience is headed by Andrés L. Perez [left in photo], who will be responsible for coming up with strategies and capabilities to understand market demands, improve the product offering and enhance customer service. Perez was previously transportation manager for global travel retail at Estée Lauder Companies. He has also worked at Swarovski as senior project and process manager, head of sourcing and product manager, and supply chain manager.


Alexander Arafa [second from left in photo] was appointed head of the cargo area and contribution management division in 2016. He focuses on improving decision-making speed and cooperation between the head office and outstations to accelerate time to market. Arafa was previously head of cabin crew at Swiss International Air Lines and has worked as head of sales in Europe, head of product development and vice president of sales in Europe.


Christian Wyss [right in photo] will lead the cargo quality and services division, ensuring operational excellence, increased process efficiency and simplification while complying with industry and regulatory standards. He was most recently head of cargo procurement and was previously manager of pricing and capacity distribution at Swiss WorldCargo.


All three departments are supported by the central functions of training and continuous improvement, marketing and communications, and procurement and supplier management, according to Swiss WorldCargo.
