AirBridgeCargo Airlines has launched a twice-weekly Boeing 747 freighter service to Taipei.
Taipei is the airline’s 12th online destination in Asia. The new flight returns to Moscow Sheremetyevo via Hanoi.
“Taipei is a mature and stable air cargo market generating volumes close to 500,000 tonnes per annum so it is a major origin, destination and transit point for freight,” said Sergey Lazarev, general director of ABC. “This includes exports of electronic components, machinery, textiles as well as a diverse range of import cargoes. We know from listening to customers in Taipei and those in other countries with traffic to and from Taiwan that there is demand for the quality of service and network opportunities AirBridgeCargo is able to offer. This is why we are supporting our customers once again with our services and additional capacity in a prime market where they want to work with us.”
ABC has doubled its network in the Asia-Pacific region over the past two years, and now operates 747Fs to and from Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Phnom Penh, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Zhengzhou.
Volumes from the region in 2016 rose 25% to more than 265,000 tonnes, according to ABC.
