Independent cargo GSSA network 1GSA has appointed TEK Poseidon as it member for Russia.
“We are delighted to welcome TEK Poseidon to our family,” said David Lee, president of 1GSA. “Russia is an important market, with exciting opportunities for international carriers. But we recognize that providing effective representation and reliable management of transhipments are equally vital to its successful exploitation. We are therefore very fortunate in recruiting a member who can resolve these issues through its strong resources. TEK Poseidon’s capabilities in Russia add considerably to 1GSA’s growing offering to carriers.”
Based in Moscow, TEK Poseidon was founded in 2002 and is now a group of businesses providing forwarding, road transport, express, warehousing, liner agency and ocean consolidation services. The group has offices Saint Petersburg, Riga, Klaipeda, Helsinki, Minsk and Hamburg, with a further office planned in Tashkent.
“Imports and exports between Russia and overseas markets are well balanced, with particularly good demand on routes to and from Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia and Africa,” said Alexander Tysyachnikov, chairman of TEK Poseidon. “However, during the economic crisis in Russia, a number of carriers left the market, and this now provides some challenges in achieving direct connections with overseas markets; sometimes, two transhipments are required. TEK Poseidon’s air cargo sales and marketing resources, in conjunction with its integrated trucking operation and well-established access to first-sector flown capacity, mean that we can provide offline and online carriers with a one-stop solution for establishing an effective presence in the large, and potentially lucrative, Russian market.”
The GSSA division is TEK Poseidon’s newest activity and will be managed by Sergey Bryukhovetskiy, according to 1GSA.
