Qatar Airways Cargo and DoKaSch Temperature Solutions have signed an agreement for the lease of temperature-controlled containers.
According to the two companies, Qatar Airways Cargo can now offer its customers DoKaSch’s RAP and RKN Opticooler active containers for the transport of pharmaceutical shipments.
“We understand the intricacies of a seamless cool chain and always aim to provide value to our customers,” said Ulrich Ogiermann, chief cargo officer at Qatar Airways. “Through this agreement with DoKaSch Temperature Solutions, we have now expanded our active container offering for customers, presenting our business partners with more options to transport their pharmaceuticals globally.”
The containers are equipped with electric or battery-powered cooling compressors and heaters, requiring no dry ice. They are controlled with a touchscreen interface system and help to keep cargo shipments within a temperature range of 2-8°C or 15-25°C.
“We are very pleased to make our Opticooler available through the number-three biggest cargo airline worldwide,” said Andreas Seitz, managing director of DoKaSch Temperature Solutions. “We are convinced that with the extensive and fast growing flight network of Qatar Airways and our joint commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, this cooperation will provide a great solution for the global pharma cool chain.”
Qatar Airways Cargo launched its 2,470-square-metre Climate Control Centre for transit cargo in May 2017.
