AA LAUNCHES FLIGHT BETWEEN LA AND BEIJING

American Airlines has launched its daily flight between Los Angeles and Beijing.

The new non-stop flight is operated with a Boeing 787-8. AA expects the route to carry electronics, medical and pharma products, perishables and e-commerce shipments to China, and automobile parts for hybrid cars, liquid crystal displays, TV parts and computer parts back to the US.

“We are eagerly looking forward to this start of service on this new route which complements our existing Beijing services from Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago,” said Rick Elieson, president of American Airlines Cargo. “I am confident that freight forwarders and shippers in China will welcome the chance not only to send their goods on American’s service to the US but we are also giving them the ability to open up new markets through onward connections with our vast Latin America network where there are many opportunities for Chinese exports.”

AA is the only US-based carrier to fly non-stop between Los Angeles and Beijing.

The airline now flies to both Beijing and Shanghai from its Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles hubs.
