DHL ECOMMERCE LAUNCHES SERVICEPOINTS IN VIETNAM

DHL eCommerce has launched a nationwide network of ServicePoints in Vietnam to enhance its domestic delivery network.

According to DHL, the ServicePoint network allows e-tailers in Vietnam to easily process domestic parcels and offer next-day delivery to online customers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and other tier-one cities, and delivery in two to seven days to the rest of the country. Shoppers can choose to receive door-to-door deliveries or to pick up their orders from the retail locations.

“Vietnam’s e-commerce sector is expected to grow seven times its current size and the number of parcels per day expected to grow 26% by 2020,” said Thomas Harris, managing director of DHL eCommerce. “Since we launched in July, we have seen fantastic growth which tells us that our customers love our service, and we will continue to launch new services and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations and ensure we continue to ‘deliver the smile in the last mile.’”

DHL eCommerce has already launched more than 100 ServicePoints and will continue to expand to more than 1,000 in the coming months.

E-tailers can deposit their shipments at the nearest ServicePoint and have their shipments processed in less than a minute without any paperwork. Registered sellers on selected marketplaces will be able to request for parcel pickup at their home of office. Shoppers will receive shipment confirmation via SMS and email, and will be offered track-and-trace, cash on delivery and shipment insurance services.

“Vietnam has more than 600,000 SMEs, comprising 97.5% of the country’s total number of companies and contributing more than 40% of the GDP,” Harris said. “These enterprises need a convenient and effective solution to quickly deliver their products to their customers. Beyond high-quality and reliable delivery, we want to offer greater convenience and choice for sellers to help them grow their e-commerce business.”

DHL has been present in Vietnam since 1988 with its other divisions DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Supply Chain.
