According to Swiss WorldCargo, its ground-handling partner Cargologic renewed its GDP compliance certification in September 2017 with Swissmedic, the Swiss authority responsible for the authorization and supervision of therapeutic products.

Swiss WorldCargo has been investing over the past two years in replicating this best-practice model in collaboration with its ground-handling partners around the world, creating a network of certified trade lanes called quality corridors to ensure the highest quality standards and product integrity in cold chain handling. Approximately 50 quality corridors covering the top pharma destinations are expected to in place by the end of 2017.

Swiss WorldCargo is also seeking to expand its accreditation under Envirotainer’s Qualified Envirotainer Provider programme, which recognizes carriers as competent service providers when handling Envirotainer’s active reefer units around the world. The carrier has already received QEP accreditation for 30 stations in its network, with more to follow in the coming months.

Cargologic was one of the first to secure GPD compliance in 2014 and received the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics certification from the International Air Transport Association in 2015, according to Swiss WorldCargo.
