Oman Air has taken delivery of its third Boeing 787-9.
According to Oman Air, Hunaina Sultan Al Mughairy, ambassador of Oman to the United States, travelled onboard the inaugural flight from the Boeing assembly site in North Charleston, South Carolina, to Muscat.
“Oman Air is adding new aircraft to its fast-growing fleet to keep up with the expansion programme,” said Abdulaziz Al Raisi, acting CEO of Oman Air. “The delivery of new aircraft is part of Oman Air’s ambitious and dynamic programme of fleet and network expansion.”
The aircraft will be deployed on the airline’s European and Asian routes.
In addition to the three 787-9s, Oman Air also operates four 787-8s.
Oman Air received its first 787-9 in February 2017.
