Qatar Airways has launched its non-stop flight between Doha and St. Petersburg.
The inaugural flight was operated by a Boeing 787-8 but an Airbus A320 is scheduled to fly the daily route.
“I am delighted to touch down today on board our first commercial flight to St. Petersburg,” said Akbar Al Baker, group chief executive of Qatar Airways. “Following the great success of our Moscow route, we are extremely happy to extend our reach into Russia.”
The flight will offer more than 10 tonnes of bellyhold capacity per week to and from St. Petersburg. Together with the airline’s thrice-daily flights to Moscow, Qatar Airways Cargo now offers 40 tonnes of bellyhold capacity each way to and from Russia overall.
The schedule for the new flight is as follows.
