The first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter has received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency, and has been redelivered to West Atlantic Airlines.
West Atlantic is leasing the aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services, which provided it to Boeing for modification in Shanghai.
West Atlantic will lease a total of four 737-800BCFs from GECAS.
The 737-800BCF is powered by two CFM56-7B engines and can carry up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with its 12 maindeck positions. It has a range of over 2,000 nautical miles.
The 737-800BCF programme was launched by Boeing in 2016.
