Middle East Airlines has appointed ECS Group as its general sales and service agent at Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport.
The Lebanese national carrier operates two flights a day between Beirut and Paris with Airbus A330-200s, offering a total belly capacity of approximately 1,200 tonnes per month.
“The collaboration between MEA and our group is a fantastic opportunity,” said Jean Ceccaldi, managing director of Aero Cargo France, a subsidiary of ECS Group. “With our experience, expansive network and expertise as one of the world’s leading GSSAs, we will be able to significantly strengthen MEA’s position on the markets covered by our new partnership. We are proud that Middle East Airlines have chosen us as their general sales and service agent at their main hub in Europe.”
Paris serves as MEA’s European base to provide cargo business from France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the US to stations such as Beirut, Abidjan, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Larnaca and Riyadh.
Commodities expected to be shipped on MEA’s flights include perishables, flowers, cosmetics, fashion goods and general cargo.
Tailored offers will be drawn up for each European market in order to optimize MEA’s full capacity and increase its market share, according to ECS.
