EFW DELIVERS FIRST A330-200P2F TO EGYPTAIR

Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH, the joint venture between Airbus and ST Engineering Aerospace, has delivered the first A330-200 Passenger-to-Freighter conversion to Egyptair Cargo.

 

According to EFW, the aircraft completed its test flights in June 2018 and was awarded its Supplemental Type Certificates from the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority in July 2018.

The A330-200P2F has a containerized volume of 453 cubic metres, a structural payload of approximately 59 tonnes and a range of approximately 4,150 nautical miles. Egyptair Cargo has two more A330-200P2Fs on firm order.

 

Egyptair Cargo also operates two A300-600Fs.

 

EFW delivered the first A330-300P2F at the end of 2017, with the larger variant entering service with DHL Express in March 2018.

 

The A330P2F conversion programme was launched in 2012. ST Engineering Aerospace acts as the programme and technical lead for the engineering development phase, and is responsible for applying for the STCs from EASA and the US Federal Aviation Administration. Airbus contributes to the programme with OEM data and certification support, while EFW leads the industrialization phase as well as sales and marketing for programme.
