DACHSER KOREA OBTAINS AEO CERTIFICATION

Dachser Korea has been certified as an Authorized Economic Operator, enabling the company to provide its customers with maximum efficiency in customs clearance.

According to Dachser, the certification recognizes that it is a trustworthy business partner to handle customs clearance in international trade. Customers can take advantage of enhanced export competitiveness, with fewer security and safety related controls as well as priority treatment during the customs clearance process.

“Obtaining the AEO certification is a major achievement for Dachser in Korea and marks another significant step towards reaching optimal efficiency and quality in our operative business,” said Roman Mueller [left in photo], managing director of air and sea logistics at Dachser Korea.

Transport processes are fully transparent through Othello, Dachser’s air and sea transport management system. An SOP database provides a full overview of process descriptions which are supported by internal control systems, while material on foreign trade compliance is also available.

“AEO-certified companies have gone through an extensive auditing process by customs authorities therefore are considered fully compliant with local rules and regulations,” said Mueller. “One of the benefits of this is having simplified trade and customs processes at import and export.”

Korean customs has also selected Dachser for a joint audit with the US customs authorities. Under a mutual recognition arrangement between Korea and the US, Dachser’s AEO certification is now recognized by the US.

The AEO certification was introduced by the World Customs Organization with the goal of enhancing international supply chain security and facilitating legitimate trade.
