UNILODE AND PALNET DEVELOP INTEGRATED DIGITAL SOLUTION FOR PALLETS

Unilode and ULD manufacturer PalNet have jointly developed an integrated digital solution for all types of PalNet pallets.

According to Unilode, the new integrated solution minimizes the risk of damage or loss of the digital tag. It does not obstruct daily operations or interfere with pallet stacking, and will be rolled out across Unilode’s entire ULD fleet from the second quarter of 2019.

“The integrated digital solution from PalNet is a major step towards our ambition to digitalize our entire ULD fleet,” said Benoît Dumont, CEO of Unilode. “We are confident that we can deliver a durable, superior and DO-160 conform product to the aviation industry, which will not only enhance ULD management operations, but also add value throughout the supply chain. We are pleased to have developed this solution in collaboration with PalNet.”

Unilode’s digital technology is based on Bluetooth Low Energy 5 and enables the tracking of ULDs as well as the measurement of temperature and shock. The solution will also be available for non-Unilode customers. All existing PalNet pallets, including heavy-duty pallets, can be retrofitted with the integrated digital solution.

“We are pleased to have developed an integrated digital solution for Unilode’s digital transformation programme, which is available for our entire pallet portfolio,” said Klaus Demtröder CEO of PalNet. “The cooperation between PalNet and Unilode is testament to a long and trusted partnership. We are pleased to be able to offer a product jointly with Unilode that meets our high-quality standard and does not impair with our requirements from an engineering perspective.”
