SAUDIA CARGO RECEIVES EU GDP CERTIFICATE

Saudia Cargo has recently announced that it received the certificate of European Union Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP) in the sector of pharmaceuticals from global certification firm, SGS.

In a statement, the Saudi Arabian airfreight flag carrier said it has fulfilled and met all international requirements for the certificate and marks a new achievement for Saudia Cargo for its storing and transporting services of pharmaceuticals and medical cargoes.

“This certificate recognizes that Saudia Cargo maintains and complies with the quality management standards throughout the supply chain and applies efficient procedures and policies for receiving and handling pharmaceuticals & medical products without any risks,” said Abdulrahman Al-Mubarak, chief commercial officer, Saudia Cargo.

The company has enhanced the quality of medical products warehouses and equipped its main stations inside Saudi with state-of-the-art equipment and devices to control temperature, which is the most important factor in the logistics services related to medical products and pharmaceuticals.

The company has also qualified its cadre to efficiently handle pharmaceutical loads.

Saudia Cargo announced earlier the launch of cold storage facilities for storing pharmaceuticals and medicines at numerous main stations.

The said facilities, Saudia said, conform to the international standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use as well as the local standards of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.

The facilities also ensure different temperatures and accommodate pharmaceutical companies’ containers, which require advanced technology solutions.
