ETHIOPIAN MOVES MORE THAN 1M COVID-19 VACCINE DOSES FROM BEIJING TO ZIMBABWE

Ethiopian Airlines has transported over one million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in a single flight from Beijing to Harare in Zimbabwe via Addis Ababa.

 

It said it transported the highly-sensitive goods in 6 envirotainers and the shipment arrived in Harare on March 31.

 

Ethiopian said it has also transported 300,000 vaccines donated by the Chinese Government to Ethiopia.

 

“[W]e have delivered more than 1million vaccine doses to Zimbabwe, Harare which is indicative of our commitment to collaborate with African governments at this critical time so that Africans get access to vaccines in due time,” said Ethiopian Airline Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam, adding that the airline is committed to “reaching every corner of the world with our dependable freight service.”

 

The airline noted that it is also determined to enhance its commitment to curb the spread of the pandemic working in collaboration with governments and humanitarian organizations across the world.
