OOIL GETS LISTED IN FTSE4GOOD INDEX

Orient Overseas (International) Limited, mother company of Orient Overseas Container Line, has been included in the FTSE4Good Index.

The index measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized environmental, social and governance standards.

“We are very pleased to be included in the FTSE4Good Global Index,” said C. C. Tung, chairman of OOIL. “In addition to the positive testimonial of our corporate ESG work, it strongly reflects our progressive steps to corporate sustainability as well as our transparency in fulfilling our environmental and community responsibilities. As a global corporate citizen, we are committed to operational excellence for sustainability and contributing to a greener supply chain for the future. In doing so we continue to meet and exceed our various stakeholders’ expectations in relation to corporate governance, environmental protection, community care and employee development and welfare.”

OOIL is the first logistics company based in Hong Kong to be included in the index, having met all the criteria in an assessment in December 2015.

The company is also listed in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index, of which it was a founding constituent.
