According to Kerry, the number of berths at the port will double from 10 to 20 when the project is completed by 2019, with a total length of 2.8 km.

The company is growing its logistics network in the region’s emerging economies. It was recently awarded a contract to operate two inland ports in Myanmar.

“Cargo and container traffic within ASEAN and in particular the GMR has recorded strong growth in recent years,” said Kledchai Benjaathonsirikul, managing director of the Greater Mekong region at Kerry. “Connected to the GMR via sea, rail and road link, KSSP will be the only terminal with full, one-stop port logistics infrastructure and capability to support both cargo owners and shipping lines as they penetrate into other markets in ASEAN and beyond.”
