PORT OF ROTTERDAM’S NEW WEBSITE COMPLETES TEST PHASE

Rotterdam Port Connector, the port of Rotterdam’s new website putting international customers in touch with the business community at the port, has formally completed its six-month-long test phase.

The website was designed to make it easier for international companies to locate and communicate with service providers at the port, and has now seen approximately 25,000 people joining the network, according to the port of Rotterdam.

“By now, we not only have visitors from Germany, France and the USA, but also from, for example, China, Africa and India and other parts of Asia,” said Marjolein Warburg, managing director of the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council, the organization behind the creation of the website. “Up till now, we mainly focused on promotional trips at RPPC, and had limited opportunities to include such far-flung destinations in our programme. And while we will never underestimate the value of meeting each other face-to-face, we have nevertheless succeeded in making the world a bit smaller with the tools offered via Rotterdam Port Connector.”

The website is capable of automatically forwarding a customer’s specific logistics enquiry to the most relevant companies, according to the port.
