UASC MAKES MAIDEN 15,000 TEU CALL AT KHORFAKKAN

United Arab Shipping Company has made the first call at Khorfakkan Container Terminal with a 15,000 TEU vessel, the largest the Gulftainer-operated port has ever received.

Together, we continue to provide our UAE customers with efficient and effective green shipping solutions, with UASC vessels making a significant 428 calls to Khorfakkan in 2015. This event is also notable as it coincides with UASC’s 40th anniversary, a milestone we are very proud to share with our partners.”

 

UASC’s fleet of green vessels consists of seven 15,000 TEU ships and six 18,800 TEU ships, with four more 15,000 TEU ships to be delivered by November 2016.

 

The 15,000 TEU vessels are among the first in the world to obtain an Energy Efficient Certificate with documented Energy Efficiency Design Index, according to UASC.
