CMA CGM LAUNCHES LIVE-LOBSTER CONTAINERS

The CMA CGM Group has launched a type of container which enables the carriage of live lobsters in conditions similar to their natural habitat.

Self Photos / Files - CMA CGM AquavivaNamed Aquaviva, the container was developed after four years of research and development between CMA CGM’s reefer teams and EMYG Environnement & Aquaculture, a company specializing in water purification and filtration.

The service will be rolled out for the European and North American markets to begin with.

According to CMA CGM, the Aquaviva container replicates the natural living conditions of lobsters by maintaining the water’s optimum temperature and preserving the oxygen level and quality.

Until now, lobsters have always been transported by air.

The collaboration with EMYG will continue and will extend to the transportation of other live seafood, according to CMA CGM.
