HAMBURG SÜD TO USE INTTRA EVGM SERVICE

Hamburg Süd has signed an agreement with INTTRA to implement the electronic marketplace’s eVGM service.

Under the agreement, Hamburg Süd will receive verified-gross-mass submissions from shippers through INTTRA’s eVGM software.

“Hamburg Süd played an integral role in championing a ‘Digital First’ approach to SOLAS VGM compliance and common standards for the industry,” said Inna Kuznetsova, president and chief operating officer of INTTRA. “Those standards are embedded in the INTTRA eVGM service, providing the foundation for comprehensive and flexible service.”

The International Maritime Organization’s Safety of Life at Sea amendment, which states that carriers must be provided with a container’s verified weight before loading, comes into effect on July 1, 2016.
