Finnair Cargo has appointed Jukka Hämäläinen as sales director for Asia as the carrier seeks to boost its presence in Asia.
Hämäläinen started in his position at the beginning of September 2024 and is based in Helsinki, Finland.
"We are excited to welcome Jukka to our global sales team. His extensive global experience in sales and business development, combined with his strategic mindset, makes him the right leader to manage this important region," said Anna-Maria Kirchner, head of global sales at Finnair Cargo.
"I am confident that his leadership will further strengthen our presence in Asia and enhance our service to customers," she added.
Finnair Cargo said in the announcement that Hämäläinen has held numerous sales and senior management positions during his career and has also worked nearly 20 years in the aviation industry, focusing previously on ground operations.
His previous position at Finnair was senior vice president, Ground Handling during 2007–2010, and since then, he has explored other industries in senior roles.

Finnair Cargo is one of the largest air cargo carriers in Northern Europe. It has one of the most modern air cargo terminals, opened in 2018 and specialises in carrying temperature-controlled cargo, such as seafood, pharmaceuticals and other perishables.
