HAWAIIAN AIR CARGO JOINS ALASKA AIR CARGO FOLLOWING MERGER
September 18, 2024

Hawaiian Air Cargo has joined Alaska Airlines Cargo after Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines completed its merger.

"We're proud to announce that Hawaiian Airlines has joined Alaska Airlines," Alaska Airlines said in a brief statement, noting that the business combination "will transform the travel and air-freight industries for years to come."

The announcement noted that both brands will be maintained — a first for a US airline.

"With roots in two states uniquely reliant on air freight, our teams share a deep commitment to the communities where we live, work and fly. Our combined fleet of narrow and wide-body aircraft will fly to 130-plus destinations, offering more capacity and new opportunities for seamless shipping across a global network while preserving the caring customer service that you depend on," it added.

In the meantime, as integration continues, Alaska Air Cargo and Hawaiian Air Cargo shipping operations will continue to be separate.

Separately, Hawaiian Air Cargo said both freight carriers will work together to optimize both shipping networks.

"Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines initially will continue separate operations. Our cargo operations will be integrated gradually over the weeks and months ahead, and we will notify customers about changes to our operations as we implement them," it added.

Hawaiian Air Cargo noted that the two companies' cargo operations will be integrated "gradually over the weeks and months ahead."

Integrating bookings and networks will also follow.

"[For cargo route integration], we are eager to make this happen, but it will take some time," the carrier added.
